Construction Inspector–Highway/Civil:

Job Description: We are a growing firm seeking a Constriction Inspector/Resident Engineer who will be responsible for assisting the Project Engineer with the field design and construction administration services for Highway and Civil Engineering projects in the Central Jersey Area. Responsibilities include utilizing your construction knowledge and skills to assist in the inspection of construction sites to monitor progress, verify quantities, materials, equipment and procedures as well as ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications and safety standards. The candidate should be able to oversee the required field testing to ensure compliance with plans and specifications and control non-conformities identified in the field through communication with clients, contractors and supervisors. The preparation of written reports in accordance with the project specifications and all other assigned duties will be required. The candidate should be able to review the contractor payment requests, interact with office staff responsible for record keeping and exert influence over contractors to maintain project goals regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc…  

Experience required: The qualified candidate should have at least three (3) to five (5) years of related construction experience involving highways, bridges, street and structural work involving sewers, drainage structures, water mains, utilities, curbs, sidewalks, roadway, mill and overlay, structural steel, pile driving with NICET certification preferred. Experience with state aid and federally funded projects a plus. The preferred candidate would be capable of utilizing AutoCAD, must be detailed oriented and must possess excellent written and verbal English language skills.
